Sometimes, you don't need to see much to know what you've got
About four years ago, I went out on a date with a girl I had met online. I was still living in Los Angeles at the time and in L.A., of course, it's all about the newest and the hottest.
So before dinner we decided to grab a drink at a new bar that had just opened and that we both wanted to check out. We meet, exchange pleasantries and order a round of drinks. It's usual first-date stuff; where you from, what do you do and so forth. As our drinks arrive, we are now maybe five minutes into the date. Keep that in mind. Five minutes.
We make some lame toast to first dates or something and as she takes a first sip, she looks around and remarks how much she likes the place.
